2018 Year End Newsletter
Scotch Pines Members and Supporters,
A week before Christmas and the New Year, and golf course is still open! What a bonus……
I played Scotch Pines yesterday with my Dad and younger son (Jeff) and was once again reminded what a terrific activity golf is for all ages. A fun, healthy activity for body and soul……..
I want to thank everyone for their continued, unwavering support of the Scotch Pines this past year. We had a good year, are on solid financial footing and have the BEST staff ever. We are looking forward to 2019, which will be our 56th year in operation.
We have a new Board member in Beverly Sunderlin, (she filled Steve Brown’s vacant slot) and was elected to a three year term (in November election) along with Mike Holcomb and myself. Lyle Kennell, Rick Greif, Ben Musser and Darin Monroe have served on our very functional and efficient Board of Directors. Darin has asked that we find a replacement for his Board slot. He is an attorney who practices in Boise. So if anyone is interested, let me know. Fill the last year of his term.
The Scotch Pines Golf Course is the largest community-owned, non-profit in the Western Treasure Valley and we depend on the community’s generous support. We get NO tax dollars. So during this Holiday, let your friends know what a great facility and experience we provide. As our membership grows older, we need to continue to find new golfers and our best salespersons are our members and guests. In this digital age, word of mouth continues to be the most POWERFUL medium.
Talk it up and let’s look forward to a fun 2019!
One last item, the Pro Shop would like to remind everyone that they have until 2-1-2019 to spend their event credit, thank you.
Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Scott Masingill, President of the Board of Directors.
